Emotional Acupressure Techniques
I am a huge fan of DIY acupressure for emotional healing. I use the following techniques several times a week to calm and process powerful feelings, release trauma, and process daily wear and tear:
I also rely on professional energy work for deeper emotional and spiritual healing. An abuse survivor, I spent years in Christian psychotherapy, and while it certainly helped me, nothing healed me the way energy work has. The night and day difference I saw in myself finally overcame my profound suspicion and skepticism. I wish I could recommend a particular technique or school, but the best I can do is encourage you to start asking, seeking, and knocking for the right person to help you.
Besides energy work, the kind of therapy I’ve found most productive is Bowen Family Systems Theory coaching. It, too, changed my life profoundly. For anyone willing to think outside the box and take responsibility for their own functioning, I can’t recommend this approach highly enough. Victoria Harrison in Houston, TX, is an outstanding practitioner of Bowen theory, biofeedback, and neurofeedback.
