Maple Macadamia Nut Butter — Super easy and a lovely treat on or off a limited diet. Macadamia nuts are easier to digest than other nuts and are often less allergenic. The trick to making your own nut or seed butter at home is to continue processing until the oils release. If you have a think, grainy paste, keep going! GF, DF
Frozen Banana Bites — My toddler and I both love these little banana-nut/seed butter sandwiches skewered on toothpicks. I don’t even dip them in chocolate. They’re especially yum with Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter! GF, DF
Strawberry Creamsicles: Made with coconut milk, these are a wholesome post-nap hit with Baby Bear. I used frozen strawberries, and they still turned out wonderfully. GF, DF
Power Bars from Elana’s Pantry: Like healthy crack. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. She does call for stevia, but I subbed extra honey. Next time I’ll put the chocolate on the bottom to make the bars easier to cut. GF, DF, grain free, soy free (just watch your chocolate ingredients)
Buttermints for Sugar Cravings from Empowered Sustenance: I keep these in the freezer and pop 2 or 3 when I want something sweet. Mostly butter–you have to like butter to enjoy these–with a bit of raw honey and peppermint oil, they do the trick! GF, soy free
My Favorite Hummus Recipe Ever: This recipe has been my stand-by for years. The parsley oil and pine nuts put it over the top for special occasions, but I usually skip them. GF, DF, soy free, etc.
